Pease Creek Recreation Area offers a small but well-maintained dog park, perfect for traveling dog owners looking to let their pets stretch their legs safely during a road trip or local outing. This dog park in Geddes, South Dakota, features a secure fenced enclosure—described as about 30×50 feet to 100 foot square—where dogs can play off-leash. The dog park is grassy, kept clean, and provides a peaceful, quiet spot with nature views and opportunities to spot wildlife nearby.
Dog owners will appreciate practical amenities including a double-gated entry for safety, an automatic water bowl, agility equipment, poop bags, and convenient trash bins. While the area doesn’t offer shade or separate spaces for small and large dogs, it gets the basics right for a safe, quick romp. The nearby recreation area boasts pet-friendly trails, open year-round camping, and facilities like vault toilets and play areas for kids, making it a convenient stop for the whole family during your visit to this beautiful, tranquil part of South Dakota.
Seems to be an older state park . Our camp spot was nice . There is no place really to fish unless you have a boat . Small beach area about a mile up the road . Didn’t see any hiking trails . Nice place, just not much to do there .

A wonderful “gem” of a campground!!! Camp host,John is great! He takes good care of the area and always ready to chat and share a fishing story. Beautiful area for tent camping.

We recently discovered riding trails here and have gone twice now! We have not camped here before but I’m sure will by next summer. There’s about 6 miles of trails and they are well marked

What a great place to have your first camping experience! The bathrooms are cleaner than any other public bathrooms I have seen, and it is so peaceful down by the water! 10/10

We were alone the entire trip. Bath house was closed but, vault toilet was open and CLEAN. Two different water sources were available. Sites not cleared of snow, luckily for us not much snow to deal with at our site. Sites normal size back ins. Lots of wild life (deer, coyotes). Nice older trees surrounding the campground with new growths planted in the center of grounds. Children’s play area center of grounds as well. 50,30 amp hook-ups with 2 110 plug ins as well. Cell phone signal down to a stumpy one bar, but we did get our phone calls and held connection. Solitude was worth priceless.
