Popular small town casual diner serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Easily one of our favorite breakfast destinations. In addition to the expected breakfast selections there are a number of interesting alternative selections. I enjoy the Kimmy Eggs Benedict and substitute fruit for the home fries. The accompanying fruit is always a generous portion and variety of seasonal fruits. We really like the pecan roll ordered split and toasted. The booth area is considerably more comfortable and quieter than the original space of table seating. Service is friendly, attentive and very welcoming. Have never had to ask for coffee or water refills!
Cute place-
The ventilation isn’t the best so the inside smells of old grease- which isn’t good for someone with breathing issues, but the place was super hot last night which exacerbated any breathing issues.
The food was good. I wouldn’t get the chicken again, it wasn’t to my liking (grilled) my son also didn’t like the tenders. It wasn’t the spices or breading it was the chicken itself. Had a rubbery taste.
The burger was outstanding, fries fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the cake and the salad was spectacular aside from the protein portion.
The service was really great! Friendly folks who were super quick to clean tables when folks left.
We would definitely return- maybe to try the outdoor seating in the fall.
I recently dined at Galena Diner and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the Barbecue Bacon Burger, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with a great balance of smoky barbecue flavor and crispy bacon. The portion size was just right, and the burger was juicy and flavorful from the first bite to the last.
The highlight of my visit, though, was the service. My server, Brielle, did an exceptional job. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was to my satisfaction. Her excellent service truly elevated the dining experience, making me feel welcomed and well taken care of. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend Galena Diner to anyone looking for great food and top-notch service.
This place is a great example of a classic small-town diner. Their breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are all great, though I typically come here for breakfast. The interior is a tad small and can get pretty crowded.
First timers. We all ordered very different items. Lemon Ricotta pancakes (10/10) wish they did blueberry syrup, but they were phenomenal as is. Kielbasa is smoked, flavored perfectly with garlic and black pepper (Polish mom approved), Mexican rice was delicious, home fries were cooked to perfection, chicken tenders easily rival the best in Central Ohio.
Our waitress was extremely attentive and knew what needed refilled or provided before we even asked.
It’s a holiday, and we correctly anticipated places to be busier than usual. They were almost packed, but we were seated and serviced in a reasonable amount of time, even quicker than we expected. Above and beyond is an understatement.
One thing I wanted to address was the man seated next to us complained for 15 minutes about how offended he was for having to wait 8 minutes to be seated.
Anyone who took the time to read this- let’s be kinder to small businesses and those employed by them. An 8-minute wait on a holiday is nothing. Nobody deserved that level of nasty glares over 8 minutes and demanding you be served breakfast despite showing up minutes before breakfast is no longer being served.
My 12 year old daughter even asked if I could hear that man-child complaining.
It’s still a 10/10 despite other guests being obnoxiously entitled.
