Beautiful trail to walk or bike on with some pretty great views! Was well maintained with some nature trails that split off from the main. Definitely recommend!
Boardwalk was closed but was still able to find a trail and hike it!!
Beautiful section of the paved “Rails to Trails” Ohio to Erie trail continues north to the terminus in Sunbury. Great progress being made connecting the sections, and soon it should be completed through to Centerburg and the many miles past there through Mt. Vernon, etc.
Summer 2023 update:
The missing bridge gap over Granville St. and other private property is holding up the final completion of the trail gap(s) in Sunbury!
Outstanding new bridge over Big Walnut Creek on the trail towards Hartford Road. Now one can ride off the streets for many, many more miles before the next gap in Mt. Vernon.
This is one of the best trial which connects galena and Sunbury. It’s kind of straight line but fun bike as you pass through the nature and towns as well. Galena bike on the other side connect to Erie trail then to Westerville. It’s very well maintained and clean. Have all the facility like benches, bridges and directions board. I came for the first time and had fun and will come again. It’s open dawn to dusk.
I’ve lived here for 17 years. My children and my granddaughter and myself have truly enjoyed this area. I am disappointed to see litter, though we will probably have to do a Community Action pick up litter day. This area is much too beautiful for people to do such.
