Great park to walk around in and take the kids as they have a playground. The best part about this park is that it connects the southern part of Galena to the downtown area for pedestrians! Great idea for a walking bridge.

This is a park right across the river from downtown Galena. You can get there via bridge over the river – or there’s parking on the eastern side. There’s a hill from the main entrance on the east side of the river to get to the top – with great views of downtown Galena. This is such a nice park. There are paved walkways that take you through the park There are a number of benches various views. There’s a gazebo, a statue of Grant, historic cannons/howitzers, a water fountain, a playground for small kids, and a basketball court. Can be a good place to just relax.

Beautiful park. A lot of grassy land space.

It’s a nice humble park in honor of Pres. Grant, who was a resident of Galena, IL.

Beautiful park chock full of history, topped by a great statue of Ulysses S Grant.
Plenty of places to take a rest and soak it all in. You can cross a walking bridge to get into the heart of Galena.
