With ample open space, extensive walking trails, and river views, the park is perfect for leisurely strolls, socializing, or simply letting your dog run off-leash.
What sets Eastham Park apart is its wide variety of amenities: children’s playgrounds, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and accessible restrooms ensure families have plenty to enjoy. Wheelchair accessible entrances, parking, paved paths, and large dog runs cater to a broad range of visitors, though the actual dog park area requires a bit of a walk from the parking lot. Whether you’re looking to spend a sunny afternoon picnicking, fishing, letting your dog make friends, or exploring riverside trails, Eastham Park is a true local treasure for anyone searching for a dog park in Front Royal, VA.
TO my surprise when I pulled up around 5 to 6 PM this place was seemingly crowded. Too much nice disruption to successfully try to get the fish in the main area part that is the one water body of the parking lot but pleasantly I noticed a dog path I can crown that lead me to peace and privacy and great fishing that like I was completely solo with nature.
Beautiful park by the Shenandoah River. There’s an expirence waiting for everyone here. Kids can play, nature enthusiasts can watch birds, watch the river, take lots of pictures, or have a picnic while watching the river go by.
For the fish catchers or boaters, there is a boat landing and the flow on the river is nice for a paddle or to drop your line in for a bite.
If you enjoy a walk or just to sit and relax by the riverside, it is equally breathtaking and memorable.
Lovely park! There’s a walking trail along the river and a nice playground (for ages 5 and under).
It seems to have nice walking trails. However, I was looking for a dog park for my dog. They have 2 (1 small dog, 1 large dog). They are HUGE. Many acres. However, they are a long way from the parking area. I am handicapped and I walked at least a 1/4 of a mile to get there. If I am going to walk my dog that far, why do I need a dog park, except socialization. And guess what? No dogs. Also, it’s not wheelchair accessible at all. I gave it 3 stars because I am sure others would enjoy it, but for me, it was a disappointing 0.
Tucked along the Shenandoah River, this park is a true hidden gem! 🌊🚶♂️ The paved walking paths are smooth and easy, perfect for a leisurely stroll or just soaking in the stunning river views. Families were everywhere, kids playing and laughing, while I enjoyed a peaceful picnic by the water. 🧺 The boat landing makes it a breeze for paddlers or anglers—casting a line here feels like a dream with the gentle river flow. Birdwatchers and photo buffs will love the wildlife and scenic spots. It’s free to visit, super family-friendly, and just the spot to unwind or adventure. I’m already planning my next trip back!
