Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]

Belcher Dog Park, located in Maple Alluvial Park at 2158 E Alluvial Ave, is a popular destination for dog lovers in Fresno, California. This dog park offers a convenient local space where dogs can roam and play leash-free, making it an excellent stop for residents seeking pet-friendly activities in north Fresno.
The park features a fully fenced area for safe off-leash play, along with a few seating spots for pet parents to relax while their dogs mingle. Water fountains are available on-site to keep pets hydrated during warm Central Valley days, though occasional drainage issues have been reported. Complimentary poop bags are provided, but visitors are encouraged to always double-check, as supplies can run out. While the park is generally less crowded and has lots of open space, users should be prepared to pick up after their pets since some guests neglect this courtesy.

The park is structurally fine, with a small space to roam and a couple of spots to sit. Have been coming a few times weekly for about nine months. It is usually not very crowded. However, sometimes the water fountain stops draining properly and unfortunately a LOT of guests do not pick up their dog’s poop, so watch your step or come prepared to pick up extra. Bags are provided and only occasionally run out, but today I counted 21 piles of dog poop left behind. We could at least use some reminder signs inside the park.
