I did mostly the orange trail with some of the yellow. Little over 6 mile loop. Average to good marking. Good amount of shade. I didn’t see too much wildlife. Good amount and variety of fungi. Oh, and lots of raspberries.
Love the freedom of this park for my dog to run around! Gorgeous well kept grounds!
Horseshoe Bend Park what a beautiful nature preserve.. the South entry has the trails for hikers and picnic areas the North entrance has area for dog walking and fields for dogs to run and other dog owners can sit and chat together . There’s some tables and benches around too. Park goers are to clean up after themselves and leave nothing . The park is super clean and they want to keep it that way .. it’s in a beautiful setting in the Hills of Hunterdon County farm and horse country .. nestle near charming stone estates .
Great park for hiking that’s not too crowded. Watch out for ticks if you end up in the fields for your hike!
Easier hiking in the winter when there’s no bugs and ticks.
Awesome place for a sunset, see my pics. The only reason I give it a 4 star instead of 5 is a. Park closes at sunset so it’s hard to actually enjoy it from the orange trail ridge and then exit. And b. Parts of the trail are overgrown and more suitable for horses instead of hiking. But overall I highly recommend especially if you like hiking next to open fields
