Brilliant stay, extremely good value for money. Was a calming environment which really helped me slow down and rejuvenate. Will recommend it to all types of travellers – solo, couple, friends or families alike

I was traveling to Bar Harbor to take the ferry to Nova Scotia. I decided to stop in Freeport overnight on the way so I could go to the LL Bean outlet store. I didn’t want to stay in a chain motel and found Maine Idyll Motor Court on Booking.com. The reviews were good and I loved the idea of a little cottage in the woods all to myself!

I was not disappointed. The cabin was sparkling clean and the bed was comfortable. I loved the little front porch and Adirondack chairs. The owners were lovely and the assortment of pastries for breakfast was tasty. I highly recommend this neat little retro business.

We rented two cabins for two weeks and my mother (84) and us three daughters had a fabulous time. We had the three bedroom and the two bedroom cabins next to each other. It worked out perfectly. We had plenty of space to store our clothes and and food. The cabins were clean and provided clean towels daily. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and helpful. In the mornings we had fresh homemade baked goods and coffee in the office area with other guests that were so nice too. It is so conveniently located that we were able to do lots of special day trips and return to the comfort of our cabins. We went to Reid State ParkBeach, went to Boothbay Harbor and had a cruise and lobster bake at Cabbage Island, we went to Camden, Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, Two Lights, Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth, Maine Cabin Masters headquarters in Manchester, and of course Portland Headlight. It is a short and easy drive back to Jetport. We come to Maine every year. We have rented simple three bedroom camps on the ocean that cost WAY more for just one week than we spent on these two cabins for two weeks that had a total of 7 beds, 2 baths, and 2 kitchens. They are cute, clean, and save you a lot of money to go explore Maine and eat more lobster! Thank you Maine Idyll Motor Court for a wonderful stay and helping us make great memories with our mom.

I’ve stayed at this location now twice! Our cottage was cute and cozy with hanging flowers by the door, adirondack chairs on the porch, a fully functional and spotless kitchenette, and a pillowy memory foam topper on the mattress (and conveniently located to Portland and the beaches of southern Maine).
However, the best part: STANDOUT SERVICE. My tire was low on air when we checked out, so we asked for recommendations on where to get it topped off. Instead of sending us elsewhere, the kind lady at the front desk produced a battery powered air compressor for us to use! Completely above and beyond customer service and I can’t wait to visit again the next time I come to Portland for an overnight!
