Hemlock Gorge trail is a destination hike I’d drive 2hrs plus to get to. This is one of the most scenic hikes I’ve been on the past 12 months.
You’d think you’re hiking in the Pacific Northwest.
Quiet little hike. Small cave that was cool. Lots of rocks and roots on the trail.
Upper Gunpowder has some really nice hiking trails! It’s filled with gorgeous scenery. I enjoyed walking under the bridge and crossing the creeks. (Recommend waterproof shoes) I found a secluded little spot to put up my hammock and it was wonderful. It was so quiet and peaceful. I really enjoyed my time.
Great hike! The Hemlock Gorge loop is how All Trails has it listed. It’s only a couple of miles but the scenery is beautiful. The trail is well marked and it a nice mix of inclines, rocky terrain, and flat.
Love coming here! Free entry. Not that much parking right by the trail but if you can get a spot, it’s absolutely worth it. Parts of the trail remind me of the pacific coast. There are sections of rock scrambling, plenty of rocks to sit on, and to be by the river the entire time is lovely. It’s not challenging but the slightest. Lovely place
