So disappointed in how they handle things. I have called at least a half dozen times for our neighbors dog and I know the family across the street has called about that many times too and they haven’t done much. The dog has been hit by a car and they left her laying at the end of the driveway to go to the doctor, so a neighbor up the road sat with the dog most of the day waiting for the owners to come back or animal control to come. The dog is never tied up, gets into garbage cans and makes a mess, scares the kids that live behind them and is left outside for days without food or water. I witnessed the child beating the dog with a toy bat laughing hysterically about it and the officer told me it was just a kid so there was no harm done…really? The dog is bones and there is no harm done hitting it with a bat? One time they did pick up the dog because she had been out for 10 days and the owners were no where to be seen and it was the week of rain. It’s extremely upsetting to see an animal so mistreated and no one caring. We do what we can by putting water out and when we can afford it some food and the family across the street does the same. The owners told us if we can catch the dog we can just take her to the pound. I feel like they are breaking some of the laws concerning pet owners and there has been no follow through of discipline. There should be fines and the dog should be removed from the home and placed somewhere that will actually take care of her. She is a sweet dog and deserves better.
