The dog park situated near Baker Park and along Carrol Creek is excellent, especially if you’re frequenting the downtown area and park for dog walking. It’s conveniently located and includes doggie fountains for both big and small breeds to stay hydrated.

It is a clean park to bring your dog. And the people are very friendly and considerate to others. It is worth the drive from Walkersville.

Caveat: I’ve only been here once, at ~1pm on a weekday, but had a great time, met a couple regulars, and definitely plan to go back.

It’s not huge, but big enough for medium/large dogs to run laps and chase, there’s a water fountain, some dishes, plenty of balls, and a few toys scattered around.

Looks like it might not have too much shade in the summer, but there are a few trees with benches under them. Ground is mulch, which seemed in good shape, no trash on the ground, there are trash cans and bags at the park.

Convenient walkable location downtown by the larger park (I’m new here, not sure what it’s called), there was street parking nearby but not sure what it costs.

Small Park, seems nice, but all dogs must be registered with the City of Frederick and have a tag or there can be a NULL fine, so not great of you are traveling. Parking next to the entrance is metered, 25¢ for 15 minutes.

This has become our go-to dog park. Friendly visitors both two-legged and four. Lots of benches, shade trees, and running water for the dogs. Easy to get to and available parking. You need to get a registration tag if you want to be a regular but they’re easy to get and help keep both dogs and humans safe with their requirements. We found the busiest times for us wS around noon and 5 pm.
