This is a beautiful park. There is a horse camp with 8 electric sites with high lines to rent and several primitive sites where horses can be high lined in the wooded edge using tree savers.
The trails are beautiful and well maintained. There are many combinations of short and longer loops with beautiful scenery.
There is also a campground, lake, nature center, camper and tent sites ( on the opposite side of the horse camp).
You can hike, fish, kayak, or just relax around the campfire.

This is a beautiful park.

That being said, it appears to have very little maintenance. The showers are like the gateway to hell. They are filthy, rusty pipes attached to a dirty wall with rusted screws.

The park map was confusing and has very little in the way of trails leading to the main beach. To walk from the campsites to the main beach it is approximately 1.5 miles on a main camp rode.

We reserved for a 50amp campsite and ended up finding it was a 30amp. Even with one light on it kept popping a breaker.

I’ll visit for the day (should I get the urge to pay to go to a beach), but we won’t be staying here again.

I arrived at 10:30 AM on a late October Monday and almost had the place to myself. Beautiful serene lake. I walked a little on the trail behind and to the left of Beachside Pavilion. Lovely trail filled with ferns and lake views. I turned around at
the picnic table for in and out of about .8 mile. I also sat at a bench at the lake enjoying the serenity and seeing/hearing the occasional fish. This place must get really crowded in the summer. There’s a large parking lot that is empty at the moment, to my delight. 🤓. There are a few geocaches here too.
