We rented the picnic pavilion for a family party. The pavilion sits on a little bluff above the campground, so you don’t have people who are using the park driving by it, which is nice. They have some festive clear bulb strings of lights strung up in the pavilion, which is welcome on a cloudy day. You can drive up to the pavilion to unload or to drop off people with mobility issues, but most attendees to an event will have to park in the parking lot below, which is also where the restrooms are. The park mgmt were very nice and loaned us a broom and dustpan to tidy up leaves that had blown in. There are several grills, and trash cans, and a lot of large picnic tables. Not much of a view of the lake, but it was quiet. The reservoir was closed for swimming when we were there. The whole facility is a little run down, looks like they were making some attempts to refresh it a bit but it’s not as nice as the state park pavilions we’ve been to. The staff were super nice and the location was conveniently near the highway, but on the whole I think I’d go some where with a little more charm next time. Would be willing to pay more for a slightly nicer place.
