The Fortuna Dog Park offers a welcoming, off-leash haven for dog owners traveling through or living in Humboldt County. Located conveniently right off Hwy 101 at 100 Dinsmore Dr, Fortuna, CA 95540, this pet-friendly park provides a safe and clean environment with separate fenced areas for both large and small dogs. Locals and visitors alike praise its friendly community, double-gated entrances, shade areas, and doggy play features like climbing structures and tires in the large dog section.
Dog owners enjoy amenities such as poop bags, trash cans, benches, a covered pavilion, and a water spigot in the play areas, making visits easy and comfortable. A small parking lot is available, and the park is generally well-maintained, with occasional noise from the nearby mill as a consideration. The park’s combination of grassy play spaces, canine agility equipment, and shaded spots under small trees offers a uniquely pleasant experience for both pets and their owners. It’s an ideal spot for a quick stop while traveling, or regular visits to let your dog socialize and play off-leash in Fortuna, California.

Lil Dude enjoyed walking around and smelling. It was quiet and right off Hwy 101. Great stop for the pups

This is a great dog park. It has a double gate, one to small dog side and the other to the large dog side. They do provide bags for clean up and have trash cans available. There is a nice pavilion and some benches on the large side. The small side had a least one bench as well. There are climbing structures and large tires on the large side for dogs to play. The small side had some toys as well. There was large buckets of water available as well. I did see one water spigot in the corner of the large area as well. All the people and dogs we encountered were friendly. Only con is the parking lot is fairly small.

Great little park – we take our two little furry dudes. They love it and so far the other visitors are always very nice and everyone is considerate of everyone else. We stay in the little dog side most of the time, but yesterday all the big dogs in the big dog side were gentle and sweet, and their humans invited us to go in with them. Everyone had a great time, and our Tali met his twinner! 🥰
