FAQ for Ruff House | Dog Boarding, Day Care, Indoor Dog Park in Fort Wayne Indiana:
I have 2 dogs that are not social with other dogs and truthfully don’t do well being away from us. We had the best experience boarding them at Ruff House. They were there for 3 days, so communications came at the end. They explained the personalities of both dogs, talked about taking them out to play (by themselves), going back in the kennel and eating. One of my dogs wasn’t eating and they went as far as putting it on a plate and heating it a little to get him to eat. We will be back.
After a bad experience with a previous kennel, I did a lot of research to find a new place. Gave Ruff House a try for vacation this time. When we entered, my dog went into curiosity mode, sniffing around. (Previously he’d cower and hide behind me, shaking like a leaf) When I picked him up at the end of vacation, he seemed totally relaxed. I also liked receiving a “report card” giving me a bit of information of how he was during his visit. Next time I need a kennel, I will come back here.
Fantastic place. Super friendly staff, and well kept facility. I have a fairly high maintenance dog with some medical issues, and they have no problems taking great care of him. They provide you with report cards, and can call and get updates on your pup as needed. 10/10 a place I have no doubts taking my furry child to.
We have been taking our pup to Ruff House for about 6 months now. When we started, our pup was super friendly and outgoing with lots of energy, but she struggled with good doggie manners. The RH staff were so patient, kind, and supportive of our high energy pup. They met her where she was at, giving her breaks when she was overwhelmed and needed them, until she matured a bit and was better able to pick up on social cues from other dogs and was able to recognize on her own when she needed to take a rest. I know part of this was her maturing, but a big part of it can be attributed to the care and patience of the RH staff. U pup comes home happy and exhausted, and maintains her friendly, outgoing personality. We couldn’t be happier.
I stopped and started to swing had a good time until I was assaulted on the swing and then to no avail help never came honestly I would’ve had been there but I was lost and couldn’t resist a swing! Bring A cattle prod to protect yourself
First time visiting. Went to the inside dog park. Many dogs were playing, having a great time. Sophie fell asleep quickly in the car. Was a fun time for her.
Have been going to Ruff House for a year now. Started with one pup now have 2 who come and get their socializing, exercising, playtime and all the barks in.Indoor area has a separate smaller play area ideal for the timid, smaller pups, or puppies just learning. 3 separate outdoor areas are available connected to the indoor park, and plenty of shade is provided. Staff is incredibly friendly and kind, and they get to know your pups. Recently started to utilize the daycare, and the few times they have gone, pups are exhausted by the end of the day– which is the goal! While my dogs are not perfect and we are constantly training I used RH to work on recall, work on some agility and learned some commands due to the ample space and the distraction of other people and dogs solidifying your training.Having dogs with some leash reactivity and not being blessed with a fenced-in yard, this place is a godsend.
