Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Tor Bryan Park And Playground is a gem for families and dog owners searching for a dog-friendly park in Fort Washington, Maryland. This park features a peaceful atmosphere, clean picnic tables under a covered shelter, and well-maintained playground equipment—making it a favorite among locals with kids and pets. Dogs are welcome at the park, and leashed pets can join you on the Henson Creek walk/bike trail, ideal for those looking for pet-friendly trails or dog-friendly hiking options in the area.
The park’s layout includes a nice-sized basketball court, two picnic areas (one covered), benches with views of the playground, and easy access to shaded spots. While the park has trash and recycling bins, there is no restroom available, so plan accordingly. After rain, paths and nature trails may get muddy—consider bringing boots for a drier experience. The tranquil setting and community feel make it a great place to relax with your pet and enjoy outdoor activities or a picnic in Fort Washington.
Cute little spot. Clean, picnic tables under a little mini pavilion. I can’t remember if it has a grill pit, but I think so. Has a nice sized basketball court. The playground equipment is current, sturdy, well-built. The Henson Creek walk/bike trail runs through this park. Therefore, I’d be careful sending your kids to the park alone. Overall a great community park.
There’s a walking trail that seems to run through the trees and wrap around the playground. Cool nature walk but the rain made it super swampy and I wouldn’t recommend the trek unless you’re armed with rain boots… because your pants will definitely get wet. Overall it’s a pretty peaceful space.
Nice playground area for young children. Two areas to gather and grill. One is covered. Basketball court is nice and appears to be maintained well.
This is a great park for a wide age range of kids – young toddlers to older elementary school aged kids at least. There’s some shade, a picnic shelter, grills, trash cans and recycling bins, a basketball court, and of course a great new playground. The playground is great for really little kids, even small toddlers, and there’s several benches looking out at the playground. It’s one of our favorite parks in Fort Washington and my toddlers and little kids request to go here and the Tantallon North playground most of the time. It’s also a convenient place to park to bike up and down the Henson Creek Trail or just take a walk. My kids love taking a nice walk after some fun on the playground.
Great neighborhood playground! Great for elementary kids It looks new and the kids had a great time here. Got to eat our lunch at one of the picnic tables here and there is even a basketball hoop here. The only down side is there is no bathroom here so just know that before hand. Besides that, a nice hidden neighborhood park that also has a nice trail that goes through and is connected with the neighborhood.
We would come here again with the kids. Will recommend to families with kids under 12 for the playground but all age for the basketball court.
