My first day today experiencing this beautiful day on a sunny day. I loved the scenery and would love to come back and experience a walk thru of the buildings. My pictures and videos turned out very beautifully.

We stopped in on a nice day since it looked like a great place for a walk. It certainly was, but my wife and I both found the place very interesting. I’m not necessarily a history buff, but found myself wanting to explore all the different underground facilities and canon displays. We were leaving right as a grounds tour was starting and I’m sure that would have been helpful too. Definitely worth a visit!

Very nice historical park, the yellow house aka the welcome center is air conditioned, has plenty of cold water and has a restroom inside for visitors to use. The staff was extremely helpful and informative. It has plenty of walking trails whether it’s either near the fort or near the parking lot. Plenty of free parking. Would definitely visit again.

It was very nice experience. I didn’t really expect such a significant military fort around such a developed area. Great place to walk and have a hike. It has small lighthouse and the fort is impressive. There’s a lot of historic buildings and it’s a beautiful setting on the Potomac river.

This place is wonderful! The landscape is beautiful and majestic. The information center is very charming. The volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable. The fortress fills with culture and history. I was very lucky to be there in the first Sunday of the month. Because they offer live artillery demonstrations. It can be very educational. The place closes at 4pm. I’d think this place would have a great view of sunset during the winter when sun sets early.
