Fort Meade Dog Park in Maryland

Located on Ernie Pyle Street inside the base, Fort Meade Dog Park provides a welcoming space for both small and large dogs to play and socialize. This veteran-owned, LGBTQ-friendly park is praised for its two generous fenced-in areas, water bowls, dog toys, and a community feel fostered by responsible owners and volunteers. Easy parking and a relaxed atmosphere make it a favorite for pet owners living on base or in the Fort Meade area.

Visitors appreciate the park’s ample space (each section about 100′ x 125′) but note that it can get muddy after the rain, with mostly dirt and patchy grass underfoot. There is a need for clearer signage for small dog sections, but there is a designated area for smaller pups. The park offers benches, chairs, and some basic agility structures, making it a great spot for dog-friendly fun in Anne Arundel County.

Closer than Overlook (North Linthicum), but actually worse than Maryland City, which is the closest to me. It’s not at all worth the hassle of getting there and it’s pretty easy to get on base but the drive is super slow, because it’s base and the park is a bit off the beaten path.

The park has two sides, decently sized. Extremely patchy, almost no grass. It’s more like an unkempt backyard w/lots of foldable chairs, old play sets and old dog toys. Parking is easy. The day we went it was mostly dirt and mud. Made for a huge mess. Not likely to go back.

Nice park for those of us who reside on base. However, it would better if one of the two parts of the park was designated for small dogs. Some dogs can be aggressive during play and tempers flare. Not good when you have a 20lb dog getting pummeled by a 70lb dog. Let’s get a designated park Fort Meade. Add a small dog sign to the small dog side and I will be happy to update my rating.

Two large dog park roaming areas complete with water bowls, dog toys, and even chairs and benches for owners. One side even has a large plastic tube for dogs to crawl thru. Both space are about 100′ x 125″ so tons of room for dogs to run and play. Great place to socialize with other dog owners too!

This place was great. We ran into a few other owners who were very responsive with our young husky and welcomed us warmly to the area.

Go before 1500 if you need some alone time with your pup or don’t want to see too many other dogs.

The place has a large and small dog run but that’s it.

Volunteers take very good care of the place. There’s always fresh water plenty of extra toys floating around.

My westie had a nice time playing in the park. It’s pretty clean and quiet for a dog area. Feel free to bring toys to ensure your furbaby has a great time. 🐶🐾🌳
