Monument Park, located at the intersection of Palisade Ave and Angioletti Place in Fort Lee, NJ, is a serene and picturesque green space cherished by locals for its quiet ambiance. While primarily known for its historical significance—including the annual “Retreat to Victory” ceremony and its proximity to Fort Lee Historical Park—the park offers a peaceful environment for those seeking relaxation outdoors. Visitors can enjoy scattered benches, natural rock formations, and well-maintained grounds, making it a pleasant spot for dog owners to enjoy some fresh air with their pets in Fort Lee.
This small park stands out for its tranquility and cleanliness, earning praise from residents as a favorite local getaway. However, dog owners should note that there may be restrictions regarding dogs within the park, as some visitors report rules prohibiting canines. There are no specific amenities for dogs such as fenced areas, water fountains, or agility equipment, but pet owners looking for a calm outdoor experience will appreciate the ample seating and shady areas offered by Monument Park.
This small park is a beautiful local attraction. We visit it annually for the “Retreat to Victory” ceremony (which is followed by a reenactment in the nearby Fort Lee Historical Park). Although this is an important location, there isn’t much to do here due to its size. Stop by for the monument, but I would recommend the above mentioned Historical Park or Constitution Park if you’re looking for more to do.
My new favorite quiet spot.
Really nice little park with a couple benches scattered around it. Very clean.
I like this place. It is quiet and clean for me to enjoy outdoor air.
But it will be much better if people follow park rules which no dogs will allow to enter in the park.
There are lots of natural rock formations across central park, this one is called umpire rock and has great views from the top.
