Beautiful well maintained park! Much larger than I thought it was! There are lots of Girl Scout projects here, many nice additions to the trail, lots of benches and owl boxes. We will be back again soon to Exploremore!
First-time visitor on Mother’s Day 2025. I started to explore the trails when all of a sudden there was loud drilling from across the street. It killed off the whole experience so I quickly turned around and went to my car and left. So disappointed.
The dogs loved this hike! Very muddy after it rains so just be prepared! Great for both a long or short hike!
Fun little park with a few miles of trails, runs behind some houses in parts but relatively secluded for the area. A great place for beginner snowshoeing!
To access the trails, you will need to park in the lot on Capner Street. Between this preserve and the attached Uplands Reserve, there are, perhaps 3.5-4 miles of trails. Some of the trails, particularly along Walnut Brook, were muddy when we visited.
All the trails are overrun with invasive plants and the result is not very visually appealing. The best part of the entire preserve was the section along Walnut Creek. As the creek makes its way down the hill, it has many little waterfalls that create a pleasant sound.
If you are looking for a place to exercise in nature, this preserve may fit the bill. If you are looking for beautiful scenery, I recommend looking elsewhere.
