Garbutt Park

Garbutt Park is a spacious and lively community park featuring a playground with slides and swings, picnic tables, restrooms, and paved paths suitable for biking and skating. It’s wheelchair accessible and perfect for family outings, kids’ birthday parties, and kite flying, offering a lovely balance of sun and shade. While dogs are allowed, there is no fenced dog run and off-leash play is not recommended due to proximity to busy roads.

I love this park, and so does my daughter. She names the parks by their color and she always chooses the blue park over all others. We love that there is open space to fly a kite or run around, along with a safe place to learn how to ride a bike. The park is great, and lots of fun for her and my older son. We’ve flown kites here and even had a traditional style picnic. I’ve even gone alone to walk along the walk path.
It’s a perfect combo of shade and sun.
Really fun park for my children! They had a blast meeting other kids too. Downside was the woodchips. There needs to be a fresh batch put down or a safer ground overall for the kids to play.
Very nice and clean park. Went for a church function and my son loved it!
The event was a family picnic,
Lovely, spacious park just off 8 Mile. Has a playground, grills, picnic tables, restrooms, and a paved asphalt area for bike riding, skating, or hopscotch.
Dog groups meet there on some weekdays, but there’s no permanent, fenced-in dog run on the premises. Given the proximity to 8 Mile, it’d be a bad idea to let dogs off leashes.
No parking lot, but street parking is ample in the adjacent neighborhoods. Do not park in the adajecent townhome development or you may be towed.
Great park! Very lively on sunny weekends.
