Nestled by the serene Norway Lake, Sportsman’s Paradise Resort offers dog owners in Felch and surrounding areas a wonderful pet-friendly escape. With cozy, clean cabins and beautiful lake views, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy quiet mornings, scenic sunsets, and outdoor adventures with your furry companions. Bring your dogs to enjoy the open spaces, stroll by the lake, or relax outside your cabin while taking in Michigan’s peaceful Northwoods atmosphere.
This destination highlights the best of dog-friendly resort living: free parking, welcoming owners, and plenty of outdoor activities like swimming, fishing, and grilling. While there isn’t a specific off-leash dog park or dedicated fenced area mentioned, many guests bring their pets and appreciate the pet-welcoming environment. Sportsman’s Paradise Resort is ideal for families and their dogs looking for swimming, hiking, and relaxing by the lake in a low-key, natural setting.
My husband, children, and I have stayed here many times. The owners, Ron and Paula, have always been more than accommodating to us. The cabins are always clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoy the peace & solitude of the lake and resort.
Just enough amenities to guarantee comfort but not too many that you’d be tempted to stay inside and miss the beautiful scenery and activities that brought you here in the first place! The owners are very hospitable and welcome you with warm conversation and local tips. Just to inform potential guests; there are no microwaves, the refrigerator & freezer have to be turned up when you arrive, no AC (although it wasn’t necessary when it’s in the 60s at night in July), and the towels in your room when you arrive are all you’ll receive your whole stay. None of this turned out to be a problem for us, the cabins were more an afterthought, just a place to crash after spending all day outdoors on the lake. We plan on returning next year, bringing the dogs and staying for more than two nights.
We had such a wonderful time over the 4th of July weekend! My family had been swimming at Norway Lake for years. I had always wanted to stay at the cabins and this year we finally did. My whole family came to visit us at the cabins, and we all grilled out with the grills that are provided at each cabin, we swam, and fished. Each cabin had a row boat they could use, and life vests were available to everyone at the office. Paula and Ron were so nice and accommodating. We want to make this an annual event!
I absolutely love this place! The owners are very warm and welcoming, the cabins are cozy and clean and the lake is spectacular! Every evening there was a beautiful sunset over the lake and it was pure bliss to drink coffee on the dock in the morning. I do suggest you bring your own drinking water since the tap is very iron heavy, but that’s just a minor setback. I highly recommend staying here for your family vacation or quiet getaway.
The cabin’s are awesome and the lake was beautiful! My family and I enjoy fishing and they have a station for us to clean fish! They have a nice fire pit that has an amazing view of the lake. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. This was are second year coming to the cabin’s and plan to come here for many years to come.
