Really nice dog park wished it was a bit bigger as more than 4 dogs and it can become crowded inside. Nice double gate system. The water fountain is still not working hopefully this can be fixed because it is way too hot for this to be off. Also need a poop bag station

EDIT: I changed my star level, because the city listened and now there is some shade at the dog park.
I really love this little area. We go on walks with our dog and we are seeing more and more dogs enjoying the park. Its great to have a dog park in Fayetteville. Only downside is there needs to be shade, there is no shade at all. As I have been told, the trees were going to be all the shade needed, but if it not already discussed, there needs more shade than the baby trees can give. As this park has been open more and more dogs are coming. There are a lot more bigger dogs (over 30 lbs) that are seen at the park. My smaller dog plays well with bigger dogs so we find that useful.

Nice quaint dog park with two sides. However please add some type of shading yes I was pretty hot in 82 degree weather but my dogs were worn out after 10 minutes. That includes me dousing them with water. This park has potential but please do something for the safety of the dogs!!!

Plenty of shade in the evening the way it’s tucked near the trees! Thankful they made room in the final park plans for the dogs (original plans did not include a fenced dog park!). Nice additions with the benches, water fountains, and play structures. Looking forward to many more trips.

It is true as others commented, there are no trees that offer shade for the dogs. In 90+ degree weather during the summer months the dogs could very easily suffer from heat stroke/exhaustion. There are at least water fountains for the pups. The size of the park is small, but it’s fenced in and nice enough in that they do have room to run around and play. There is a play ramp (which is the only relief a dog can find for shade at present), a see-saw and a tube for play fun, but when we tried it out today it was too HOT from the sun for my pup to run in/on – a big risk to burning a dog’s paws/pads. We lasted all of 15 minutes at our first visit today because it was too hot for my pup. Can’t imagine this thriving on summer days when it is potentially full of dogs w/o any relief aside from a water fountain. I do commend Fayetteville for finally getting a dog park and family-friendly city park together for their residents, but some improvements to the dog park is an important next step as time goes on so as to avoid a health emergency from visiting dogs (i.e., plant some shading trees… STAT).
