If you’re looking for a dog-friendly park in Fall River, Massachusetts, Kelly Park is a local favorite for families and pet owners alike. This spacious park features amenities like a baseball field, basketball courts, picnic tables, and a playground with bouncy foam padding, making it an ideal spot for spending quality time with both kids and dogs. The park is wheelchair accessible and offers a welcoming, clean environment for everyone in the community.
Kelly Park stands out for its pet-friendly attitude—dogs are allowed, and there’s plenty of room for leashed walks through the green areas. Parents and pet owners enjoy the convenience of picnic tables, benches, and the availability of nearby porta potties. The park is well-maintained and also has splash pad activities for kids in the warmer months. While there’s ample outdoor fun, be aware the area is not well-lit after dark, so plan visits during daylight hours. Kelly Park is a wonderful resource for local residents seeking a dog-friendly recreational space in Fall River.
Took my kids to play a couple times and we all had a blast, adults included! Its always been very clean and although I’m not at all a fan of porta potties I did happen to notice a few around the park which can be extremely convenient when you have small children.
We did the splash pad with the kids. It starts at 10 am and the kids LOVED it. The splash pad and the playground across from it have that bouncy foam padding instead of wood chips. The only thing is I didnt really see a bathroom anywhere but we didn’t travel too far to look for one. I wish I lived closer I would go every day!
Park and softball field are fairly well maintained. Good place to sit and watch a softball game. Plenty of picnic tables and benches scattered around the park. If the city invested in a pedestrian bridge to connect this with Chew park directly across Globe street the two combined would make a nice family park. Chew park has basketball courts, a playground for the kids, and a baseball field but where you would cross Globe street from Father Kelly to get there is dangerous. It is at a bend in the road where cars routinely speed by. With all the cars parked in the street a small child or even an adult may not be seen until they are in the street. Do something to make the parks more accessible from each other and you would have something here.
