Siggelkow Park offers a spacious and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners just outside Fairbank, Iowa. This dog park features three large, fully-fenced areas: one dedicated for small dogs, one for large dogs, and an additional multi-use or agility area. This setup makes it an excellent choice for families with different-sized pets, and it’s a favorite spot for off-leash play in Chickasaw County. The park is known for its well-kept grounds with plenty of room for energetic dogs to explore and socialize safely.
Beyond the dog park, Siggelkow offers a range of amenities including walking paths through picturesque wild grasses and flowers, a campground, beach, showers, playground, and even a sand volleyball pit. There are picnic shelters to provide shade and cover, making it a pleasant destination for both pets and people. While maintenance is good overall, visitors report that mosquito spray is highly recommended during certain seasons. The park’s peaceful setting, friendly rangers, and clean facilities make it a true hidden gem for dog-friendly activities and outdoor fun in northeast Iowa.
A beautiful little spot.
I can’t give a good rating for this place since it was recently flooded, but I did not see any restroom. The shelter was not bad, but it was so bug infested that if you would have forgotten the mosquito spray they would have sucked your blood clean out! We had bug spray so we’re not bothered too much. I feel the recent flood may have had something to do with it though!
Nice quiet place to camp. Friendly park ranger.
I stayed here on the weekend of May 19-21, 2023, if it was a nice place to camp. The only issue was when it came time to dump at the dump station… it was full, and I could not dump and had to leave full and dump somewhere else
So many mosquitos. They don’t mow the grass regularly, bugs were so bad we left after 1 hour
