A good park for well-socialized, confident dogs with attentive owners.
Most dogs and handlers here are great. However the few less great owners/less trained or socialized dogs are a constant risk.
If you bring your dog here, stay attentive and be ready to deescalate a dog fight and/or leave at a moment’s notice.
Nice locations with shade and tables. Not to mention the scenery is awesome. There are options for trail walks and cooling off in the water too!
Nice dog park but kinda hard to find. Driveway back down the no exit road to the end. Park and you’ll have to walk about 50 feet to the dog park entrance. You know
Being as my canine companion Elsa and I travel all over the Northwest from my job, it goes without saying that we stopped by a lot of dog parks and check them out. Alton Baker dog park has been one of our favorites for the last 6 months since we discovered it.
It’s in a great location where you feel safe and secure, there’s ample parking, there’s a beautiful walk across the bridge and River to get to the park which is only a very short distance, and once there we are always greeted by friendly talkative people and their sweet playful companions.
In the five times that we have been there over the last year, there’s only been one incident of an aggressive dog and he and its owner were kindly asked to leave the park buy several regulars. I appreciate this because it felt as if we had a sense of security and order in the Park which means a lot to me.
All in all it is a wonderful Park I certainly wish we had one closer to where I live in Crescent City but for now I’ll just look forward to making this short drive off interstate 5 each and every time I drive by Eugene Oregon.
Great dog park! Well maintained and not too muddy. There are lots of friendly dogs for my gentle giants to play with. Water hose access and poop bags provided if you forget yours. Nice open areas for dogs to play and run with a trail around the outside for us humans to get some walking in if we so choose. There are a couple benches and picnic tables to rest on and some shady areas when the sun is hot. This is my favorite dog park in town!
