So quiet. So peaceful! And the California Golden Poppies are starting to spring up in all their glory. I really needed solitude and found it here.

I didn’t take any pictures, I had a great time walking around getting exercise and breathing in nature by the rushing stream. Light, challenging hike. For example, anyone with some body issues can get great exercise from walking along the firm wet riverbank stepping around all the rocks, although some people couldn’t do it at all. I consider it easy but it could be difficult depending what’s going on with your body. For me it was really good for my knees, hips and legs. This place also had a couple of toilets but no sink and the drinking fountains were both broken. There was a functional trash can and several awesome benches and picnic tables. Spacious, awesome views. Oh yes and dogs are allowed on a leash. And if you want to read and linger more than you walk, there’s a walking trail with information signs every 4 feet or so. That would likely entertain older children well
Capay open space park is a wonderful open space with restrooms, a walking trail, and a convenient aluminum bridge leading down to the running waters of the creek. Beautiful and surprisingly well kept!
