Black Creek Preserve offers a scenic getaway for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails in Esopus, New York. This beautifully maintained preserve managed by Scenic Hudson features a network of shaded hiking paths, moderately challenging terrain, beautiful overlooks of the Hudson River, and a peaceful atmosphere perfect for walking with your four-legged companions. Leashes are required throughout the preserve, ensuring a safe experience for all visitors and pets.
The park includes well-marked trails with small boardwalks over wet areas, plenty of natural shade, and views of a pond, a small waterfall, and the river. Parking is convenient—with a recently updated lot—although spots can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. There are restrooms available, a pavilion along the river for relaxing, and the area is frequently described as clean and well-maintained. This is a wonderful choice for dog-friendly hiking or a leisurely stroll in Esopus with your canine friend.
