Englewood East Park is a peaceful, scenic spot nestled in Englewood, Florida, offering pet owners a low-key environment to walk, relax, and enjoy nature with their dogs. The park is known for its wide walking paths—some paved and some unpaved—making it great for dog-friendly hikes and leisurely strolls. It’s a quiet spot, rarely crowded, with lots of open space, benches along trails, and picnic areas ideal for spending time with your furry friend. Dog lovers will appreciate the serene atmosphere and beautiful views, plus large, well-maintained grounds that are kept clean by park staff.
While the park doesn’t feature a dedicated off-leash or fenced dog park area, it is pet-friendly and has plenty of walking paths, shady spots from remaining trees, and a covered pavilion for respite on hot days. Amenities include restrooms, ample parking, and a playground and basketball court for families. If you are searching for a dog park in Englewood, FL with relaxing trails and shaded rest areas rather than a typical fenced dog run, Englewood East Park is a great option for a casual pet-friendly outing.
While there isn’t a whole lot of equipment for the kids to play on, what they do have (as well as the actual grounds and the public restrooms), is well-maintained and fairly clean. My kids have lots of fun playing there; however, the reason I can’t give more stars is because there is absolutely ZERO SHADE over this well-maintained equipment, and its such a shame. I realize that Hurricane Ian gave this park, as well as many others, a very unintended renovation, and this park lost several of it’s shade trees. It’s just hard taking the kids here, unless its 3:48 a.m, because at any other time of day the play equipment is hot enough to fry an egg on. Sorry, I really enjoy this park, but I also really enjoy my kids not having to leave the park after 5 minutes because the equipment is far too toasty.
MUST UPGRADE! Need to upgrade playground and or basketball court, I come to this place very very often and it’s getting trashed and yell and doing stuff! You guys should and need to upgrade basketball court, you have so much space to, mind as well redo the whole park, this place would be so nice if it hade a full size 🏀 court our a fence around existing one!
The park is cute, though tiny it has a few fun things the kids enjoyed playing on, usable picnic tables and bathrooms, we had a good time.
Disappointed in this park, took damage I assume from hurricane, broken equipment. do not recommend the drive here.
Very quiet secluded little park. Never more than like 5 kids there. Few picnic tables. And one pavilion area. Half basketball court and a really nice newer playground set of equipment!
