Cherokee Street Park is a picturesque dog park located in Englewood, Florida, offering pet-friendly access to the beautiful Lemon Bay and tranquil grassy spaces for play. This hidden gem is loved by locals and visitors alike for its relaxing atmosphere, scenic views of the intracoastal, and abundance of wildlife including birds, manatees, and dolphins. With a unique dog-friendly beach area, it stands out as one of the few places in the Venice/Nokomis region where dogs can legally enjoy the beach off-leash.
The park features a large, fully-fenced dog area with separate entrances and exits, water stations for both people and pups, and a convenient dog wash area to clean up after a fun day in the sand. There are benches and covered picnic tables, providing ample shade and resting spots for owners, while cleanup stations and trash bins help keep the grounds tidy. Cherokee Street Park is perfect for those looking for a peaceful spot to let their dogs run free, meet friendly locals, or even try fishing from the nearby piers.
Small park good view, Nice place to picnic
Cherokee Street Park is a grassy area that has one small shelter with one picnic table and a short path to a pier overlooking Lemon Bay. The attached picture is of the nearby Cherokee Street Pier, which can be seen from the park’s pier.
Great neighborhood park — hidden treasure — and nice little spot for fishing. This hidden treasure provides access to 2 nice piers from which you can access and fish the Lemon Bay waters. There is perimeter parking on the grass/dirt, but usually not many cars around, so plenty of parking. The kids had a fun time catching various fish and even got to see manatees and dolphins nearby!
My favorite park in Englewood. Lots of birds and fish to watch and gorgeous views of the intracoastal. Nice quiet place.
Beautiful small local park with 2 nice piers. Cute small trail through the garden with information about the local plant life. It appears to be a great place to fish. Definitely will be back to check this theory.
Parking is minimal, but this is a local park, and I am going to guess that most people walk to this beautiful place. There are 2 handicap spots and 1 regular parking spot. Then there is a turnaround spot that looks like a parking spot.
There is a beautiful picnic table with cover. I only saw one. When I visited there wasn’t anyone at the park so I am going to say it is probably available most of the time.
If you are looking for a nice quiet spot, this would be a great place to visit. Fishing may be an option as well. It’s definitely worth a stop it won’t take long to explore. But it is definitely a great place to sit back and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Watch the birds and fish in the water and all the beautiful wildlife this area has to offer. I will definitely be back.
