Englewood Picnic Area is a scenic and tranquil spot located along Henry Hudson Drive in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Known for its stunning views of the Hudson River and peaceful ambiance, it’s the perfect retreat for outdoor enthusiasts and dog owners looking for a relaxing day out. This hidden gem offers dog-friendly hiking and pet-friendly trails, making it a fantastic destination for those searching for a dog park in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
The area is well-loved for its ample picnic spots, public grills (arrive early as they fill up on busy days), and shaded spaces provided by the cliffs, especially in the afternoons. While there is no dedicated playground for children, this lends to a quieter atmosphere, ideal for pet owners seeking a peaceful spot. Parking is available on-site, and the location provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors with your four-legged friend.
My family and I have come to this area and drove here and parked here and then got out of the car and then picnic there. The day was nice and that there were lots of people there, also that this place offers wonderful views of the Hudson River, Spuyten Duyvil Train Bridge, ships, boats and others.
I used to love coming here but near Bloomer Beach someone or a group of people decided to spray paint all over the lovely bench, the big rock, and even wrote all over on their chalkboard. The Palisades Interstate Park Police needs to start putting cameras around or have someone monitor the area because they clearly vandalized the property here. What a shame!
Beautiful place I love it❤️🙏
We went to this park for outdoor picnic and BBQ on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We first arrived at Ross Dock picnic area around 9:45am, but all the public grills were already taken by then. We pivoted to Englewood and nabbed the last public grill remaining. It turned out that this park was much quieter and relaxing, perhaps because there are fewer children since it doesn’t have a playground like the other park. In the latter part of the afternoon the cliff casts a nice long shadow to keep everyone cool. Overall we really enjoyed grilling and picnicking here. The main downside is that there are only port-a-potty stations, and these are not the most pleasant things to use.
Beautiful place, hidden away gem of a place. We took out bikes on the trail but it’s out of season it was dead. Bikes all the way to the bottom of the bridge and further. Great day!
