We happen to be visiting the area for the weekend! 🫶 decided not to ride today but explore instead. Found a walking trail near us. Little Emily Lake Park! Very clean unisex bathroom (porta potty style). No sink but… did have hand sanitizer. Took a 3 mile hike and didn’t see a single human on the whole walk. Very peaceful. Lots of people at the playground and beach but not crowded. I loved all the tree facts throughout the trails.

Great place to run. If you take the shorter options (go left at #3 left at #7) it’s 2 miles on the nose. I suspect the longer options would land right at 3 miles. Maybe they made it an even 5k.

Perfect place to take your buddies hammocking. Great ATV trail head. Nice place to go swimming with the kiddos. Small trail, but just the right size to get in a light hike. Picnic area, bathrooms, and an updated playground.

Lovely new (as of 2024) Crow Wing County park with wide, smooth packed aggregate trails that are easy for all levels of hiker to enjoy. Really nice picnic shelters, playground with swings for kids, fishing pier, and excellent large sandy swim beach with shallow sand bar on the east end of Little Emily Lake. There are trails that go to a second lake (Papoose Lake) that is entirely natural, no buildings or other signs of human disturbance. The park has a picnic shelter there too. Near a major UTV off road trail with access for off road vehicles, and off MN Hwy 6.
One vault toilet located at the main parking lot near the swim beach.
