Da Ciao

Moderate difficulty short (1 mile) course featuring improved trails with thick wooden ties or bridges above the wet/damp areas. Very scenic views through the trees, especially along the lake. Parking lot can handle approx 6 cars. Course is dog friendly; no water source or restrooms.

This is a lake rather than a pond. It’s about 3 miles around the whole path. There is a part of the trail that includes rock scrambling, but without limitations it’s very doable

Beautiful little hike. We were in the area and had some time to kill, but not enough to go down into Acadia Park. This was perfect! It took my husband and I about 25 minutes to do the loop (I did it twice). Not crowded at all. Only one other couple on the trail. There are lots of tree roots, pine trees, and a small creek. Trail was nicely marked. This would be a trail I would use often if I lived in the area.

A nice short hike near Ellsworth. The path is well maintained with bridges over creeks and valleys. There are some roots that peek up through out the trail but nothing major. The loop trail is right around 1 mile. It took us 45 mins to hike, while stopping several time to take in the views, take photos, and stop by the waters edge.

First time visitor. I showed up with my two dogs (Labs) and walked the whole trail.
It was a good workout; I would not agree with the posted sign saying it was an “Easy” walk. The trail loops through the woods and follows the terrain. It is a woods trail that has been enhanced with crushed stone. The stone is large grade and rolls easily underfoot; my dogs didn’t like it and so they walked beside the trail. Lots of mini bridges over low, marshy spots. A couple bridges and stairs against hillsides. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the trail and plan to come back but I wouldn’t advise someone with mobility issues to try it.
Very peaceful, meandering trail. Lots of downed trees, mossy sections, wildlife flitting about. A couple spots where the dogs could access the river for a dip. A couple other elevated sections where the view of the river was cool.
Parking for about 10 cars. No restrooms or picnic area. Adjacent to the Jordan family cemetery which has some nice old headstones.
5 stars!
