If you’re searching for a beautiful dog park in Elliottsburg, Pennsylvania, Lynn Sheaffer Dum Memorial Park offers an inviting and pet-friendly experience. The park features lush, mature trees and both shaded and sunny spaces, making it ideal for you and your canine companion throughout the year. With paved, accessible walking paths that are perfect for leashed walks, a meandering creek for cool play, and wide open spaces to explore, this park is a favorite for locals and visiting dog owners alike.
Aside from dog-friendly trails, the park boasts amenities like tennis and pickleball courts, disc golf, a playground, multiple pavilions, picnic tables, and benches. Families love the safe play areas for children, while pet owners appreciate the friendly vibe and spacious grounds. Whether you’re just going for a walk or hoping to let your dog enjoy some water fun, Lynn Sheaffer Dum Memorial Park is a great choice.
This park is owned by Spring Twp. There is a Twp. Recreation Committee and a group “Friends of Spring Twp.” that work very hard to raise funds for, and awareness of this park. Their efforts to further development the park for all to enjoy, could and would be much easier with community support and involvement to help in advancing their efforts to complete Phase I of development and move on to Phase II, that will include an Amphitheater!
Recent additions include two large Pavilions and two smaller Pavilions. By Fall, 3 additional Pickleball Courts will be completed. And Grants are being applied for to extend the walking trail. Progress is slow when committee’s have less than a handful of people working for everyone and donations and money is slow in coming!

It was a very nice quiet evening when I went there. Our scout troop was playing frisbee golf. I could see others enjoying a game of pickleball. I enjoyed reading the history of Perry County and sitting on the park benches talking with some friends.
