FAQ for Playful Pups Retreat in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania:
I am so happy with Playful Pups retreat that I will happily leave a review for them. My pup, Buddy, is a little over a year old Cavapoo and is a very nervous, shy guy who is very attached to me. When we planned on going on a cruise last month I was extremely worried about leaving him for a week but we needed to get some training for him so it seemed like a great fit. I’m so glad we did. McKenna was so wonderful in posting pictures of Buddy’s progress along the way and keeping me updated with his progress and if they had any questions or concerns. It made me so much more comfortable and able to enjoy my vacation knowing he was being well taken care of. He graduated his program and stayed an additional 2 days in the doggy daycare program until we got back. I would say its very reasonably priced for all your pup receives. The staff is all very friendly, every single employee. Drop off and pick up was a breeze. Can’t say enough good things about this retreat center. If your debating on using Playful Pups, take it from a very nervous Pet Mom, your going to be glad you did!
I am so THANKFUL for finding this amazing place!!!! Services are customizable and the staff (I met probably 10 between my pickup /drop off visits) are all truly doing something they LOVE. They were all so kind and understanding to my worries (first time boarding mom) and made me feel at ease. I got a QRcode to join their Facebook group where they posted more pics!My dog was comfortable going in, I loved all the little touches outdoors (multi tables and chairs, hand painted rock wall, pebbled and paved walkways, and high fencing. The interior was clean and well organized. He went to his room willingly (he was a rescue that did not want to go back to his cell at the shelter). I got the pupparzi package that included two photo shoots and a doggie diary entry (which made me almost cry with happiness). In the pictures his ears were up and tag wagging, he actually appeared to be smiling in a few. He had a lick mat/ kong treat during his days – and he loves those toys. He had walks around the property and was a play monster and made best dog-buddies to play with.I added an oatmeal bath and nail trim just to pamper him and I got positive feedback on his behavior as well as had the softest (non-scratchy) greeting from my pup upon pickup. If you want piece of mind / ultimate enjoyment for your pup – COME HERE. They made a lifetime vacationer from us. 🩵
My corgi Milo has been coming to PPR since January, and we have nothing but awesome things to say! I was a little hesitant to enroll a young puppy into a daycare program, however I work long hours and wanted him to be in a safe & controlled environment rather than at home by himself. While he was in puppy social skills, he got socialization with other puppies and adult dogs, socialization with humans, obedience training, and lots of fun activities. We got a report card every week to show his progress and a few fun photos on the Facebook group. Staff member Audrey was awesome! Now he’s in the enrichment program being an older puppy and he’s still thriving! He gets to splash in the pool, play with his bff’s, and do all kinds of games. One of our favorite things about PPR is the staff… you can tell that they truly care about your pet. Most of them know exactly who we’re picking up when we come in and they are always prompt to respond with any questions. I would recommend this facility to anyone, and we will definitely be bringing our next corgi puppy here!Side note: the bonus events and crafts they do are absolutely adorable and hysterical… definitely worth the extra money. 😝
This place is the best! Just finished with their puppy manners class and it was extremely helpful. Maria was the most resourceful and supportive trainer, and my puppy Millie learned so much. Will definitely come back for other programs!
We love taking our girl to Playful Pups! We started her there as a puppy in their puppy social skills program and now she goes to enrichment daycare once a week! We’ve also done their A to Z program (both levels), and two different training classes. We’ve been super happy with our experience with everything we have participated in, and our pup loves going there! I would highly recommend Playful Pups to anyone looking for daycare or training services. The staff is always super kind and helpful, and their texting service makes scheduling and asking questions super easy.
