El Dorado County Dog Park is a much-needed resource for local dog owners, offering a dedicated space where dogs can run off-leash, socialize, and play safely. Located at 4650 Oriental St, this dog park in El Dorado, California features two fully fenced areas—one for large dogs and one for small dogs—ensuring that all pups have a comfortable space to explore. While the park is still developing, it already boasts several amenities like benches, a shaded awning, balls, toys, waste bags, and plastic bowls for dog owners’ convenience.
This pet-friendly park is praised for its community atmosphere and quiet environment, standing out in a region with few other off-leash options. While there is currently no water fountain on site, visitors are encouraged to bring water for their pets. The park has easy access to nearby walking trails, making it a perfect spot for dog-friendly hiking in El Dorado. Ample parking, cleanliness, and recent improvements like seating and shade make it a solid choice for locals seeking a welcoming dog park experience in El Dorado County.
Difficult to find, no water, no grass. Disappointing.

So peaceful, very grateful to have a doggy park near by that is not chaos. Nice and clean. Thank you

This is indeed a work in progress. However, there are not many places in the area that allow for dogs to be off leash. It has great potential to be a solid resource for the community. There isn’t any water on location at the moment, so make sure to bring water in with you. There were some balls, toys, bowls and plastic bags to dispose of pet waste. It has two fully fenced areas one for large and the other for small dogs. I took my dog and several others joined and everyone had a great time. It would be nice to have some stumps, tires, or other objects that dogs could jump up onto for variety. I anticipate that it will be too hot to visit in the summer with no real shade or vegetation on the ground. However, I’m just glad and happy there is something like this in the county. 🙂

This is a recent addition to the area. It is a work in progress. They have added a bench and shade awning since the last review was published. Can’t complain about free, safe area to let dogs run. There are trail systems nearby for more adventures. Public restrooms at the train depot just down the way.
