Van Valkenburg Park is one of the best dog parks in Edina, Minnesota, ideal for pet owners looking for a safe, friendly space for their dogs to play and socialize. This popular dog park features expansive open areas with great visibility, ensuring your pup stays in sight while enjoying the company of other furry friends. The park has a unique “donut” shape with a bowl in the middle, making it perfect for dogs that love to run laps and play fetch on pet-friendly trails.
The park is divided into two separate spaces for small and large dogs, each with plenty of room to roam and explore. Owners appreciate the respectful atmosphere, where dog parents look out for each other, and there’s rarely an aggressive dog in sight. Additional amenities include walking tracks (with some dirt portions), water fountains, benches for relaxation, and shaded spots—ensuring both you and your dog have a great visit every time. Please note, an annual license is required for your dog, and the park is regularly maintained for safety and cleanliness.
Very nice dog park to walk around and meet new friends!
Their new pass is nonsense, every vet has an app now that shows if vaccines are up to date. I shouldn’t have to pay extra to let my dog play in a dirt pit.
Shaped like a donut with a bowl in the middle. This is like a little race track and some field area that dips down to the center. Our dogs are very happy when they go here.
Best dog park around hands down. I have had dogs my whole life. There is a track to walk around here (some portions are dirt – fyi). Huge space, always some dogs to play and bigger than that, it is one of the friendliest places around. Most people will say hello, chat if you want. 2 separate spaces, big dogs & little dogs – annual licenses required for your dog, though I have not ever seen anyone check or ask.
Great dog park. Our favorite so far. Large section has good visibility and dogs can’t get lost in the woods. (That has happened at other parks!) Nice and respectful dog parents too! Deducted one star for a tumble in the small dog park because of an aggressive hole. (Which was filled in next time we were there.)
