🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Heights Park is a spacious and popular off-leash dog park located in Edina, MN. Known for its large, natural setting, it offers wooded trails, gravel paths, open fields for fetch, and a unique marsh/wetland area – making it perfect for dogs who love to socialize and explore pet-friendly trails. With convenient parking, beautiful old trees providing some shade, and several benches for owners, Heights Park is a favorite destination for both local residents and visitors seeking dog-friendly hiking and playtime.
The park is mostly fenced but has a section near the road that is not fully enclosed, so owners should supervise their dogs accordingly. There are no on-site water fountains, but visitors often help by bringing and sharing water bowls. Poop bags are sometimes provided, but guests are required to take waste with them as there are no public trash bins. The gravel surface helps keep dogs cleaner, though it can get muddy after rain. While there isn’t a separate small/large dog area, the park’s layout and community make it a great spot for socializing non-aggressive dogs of all sizes. Plan ahead to bring water, waste bags, and enjoy a beautiful space for pets and their people.
