If you’re looking for a convenient spot to enjoy the outdoors with your canine companion in Ecorse, the Ecorse Boat Ramp offers scenic riverfront views and an accessible environment for all visitors. With easy access from Jefferson Ave, just south of Southfield Road, and plenty of onsite parking, it’s a local favorite for enjoying some fresh air and tranquility along the Detroit River.
While primarily known as a boat launch, the area features wheelchair accessible parking and entry points, making it accommodating for everyone, including pet owners looking for dog-friendly spaces in Ecorse. The grounds are generally clean and feature reasonable lighting during the evening hours, providing a welcoming atmosphere. Please note, this spot is not a dedicated dog park, so traditional dog park amenities like fenced areas or agility equipment are not present, but it’s a peaceful and accessible destination for a stroll with your pet.
I switched boat ramps about 2 years ago maybe three from Wyandotte to Ecorse because it is much more convenient and I can get in earlier it’s easier to lunch from there too I don’t have to back out so far I do none of that stuff
Very clean, nice place to scenic views
I love this boat ramp! There is a kiosk to pay for however long you’re there. it’s NULL. I’ve only gone there 2 or 3 times and it’s never busy so it’s easy to get in and out. there are two spots.
Automated prepay boat launch with smaller parking lot and 2 launch spots. Reasonably well lit and easy access to the Detroit River off of Jefferson Avenue just south of Southfield Road. They used to sell live bait in the trailer that is still on the site but apparently not anymore.
Dock worked as intended when launching. The area could definitely use a bit of maintenance and cleaning up. The day pass for parking was pricier than expected for such dump. Mooring was a different story as our boat sank on the way in so we could not complete the full experience. Overall I cannot and will not recommend this place.
