Just a nice place to sit under a shade tree and relax and listen to the birds. There is nothing else here. I like it that way.
It’s not a park with swings or even benches. It’s just a quaint strip of land right in the middle of a residential area. Not for kids. Maybe to walk a dog or stroll in a summer breeze. Small, compact. I’d pass it up if your looking for a real park
Rein Park was originally a part of the Rein farm. Charles Rein and his wife Wilhelmina were pioneers who settled there in 1844
My great great uncle is Charles Rein the treasurer for then East Detroit. The family donated their land to halfway housing. Later on they made the park and dedicated it to them.
Quiet park for reflection directly off Gratiot Ave. Local historical significance to Eastponinte (East Detroit). Well manicured 400m shaded winding loop, in respect the first Settling Family “The Reins”
Park benches (no picnic tables, playground or restrooms for road trippers), a welcome check point to rest, read, check social media etc, on a neighborhood walk. I thoroughly enjoy my visits to this park. Please pitch in and pick up waste, yours, your dogs, or any other debris. Plenty of trash receptacles.
Happy Trails!
