Park needs some updating
My daughter has model training in Eastpointe and we found this cute park. It is such a nice relaxing place. It has a gazebo for picnics. And nice play area. Big grassy field for my puppy to play in. And lots of beautiful trees to take pictures near. Def check this park out if you are near.
While the park itself is a nice little place to go to just chill and relax, there isn’t really a whole lot of stuff at it short of a couple play places or maybe the younger kids as far as stuff to do. There appears to be what looks like some form of hockey rink area, though I almost really if ever see it used which I feel something that is really underutilized. I think they’ll probably my biggest gripe and complaint of the park is the fact that they have a brick and mortar restroom/bathroom facility which pretty much is never open. In fact probably the only time I think it is ever open is if the park is hosting an event or is been rented out by a large group. I believe that having these bathrooms locked almost 98% of the time and for the entire season or year is unacceptable. These bathrooms should be open and publicly available to anyone who wants to visit the park. A person a group of people who want to come to the park and spend the day here just to enjoy the nice weather should not have to walk, b8ke or drive up to the nearest fast food joint on 9 Mile just to use the bathroom. The fact that these are brick and mortar facilities also makes them beneficial in the event of severe weather where they could be made use of as a shelter for those who are enjoying the park when severe weather hits. The fact that they are not open at all throughout the year or season is just completely unacceptable as a patron of the park one should have the right and ability to be able to have accessibility to a restroom facility while enjoying the park, but also have the peace of mind in knowing that if the weather turns sour and they have no vehicle or other point of safety they can hunker down in these restroom facilities as a storm shelter till the severe weather passes. And with the fact that whether these days is becoming more and more severe, to not have somewhere that patrons of the park can go to seek shelter is also just as unacceptable. Eastpoint needs to do better when it comes to their parks. If you’re not willing to keep a brick and mortar restroom facility open year-round for all patrons to use while at the park then you don’t need to have a brick and mortar restroom. You would be better off suited to renting out and having porta johns placed in several points of the park so that patrons can at least have somewhere to use the restroom when needed.
Lots of trees and lots of shade and space for a family picnic or a graduation 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Very nice park in the middle of the suburbs. Have came here since middle school, then highschool band for Memorial day parade. Beautiful day out here as well
