We enjoyed our time here. The people and dogs that were there were friendly. The beach was clean and there was plenty of space for everyone.

This beach is NOT wheelchair accessible. It may have a paved path, but that ends into a wood platform with a large step down onto the beach. Besides that, the water is shallow for dogs to jump around in, and as we experienced there are flies that will bite you until you finally leave. Would not go back!

We had an okay time. We came specifically for the dog beach and dog friendly park but didn’t know until we arrived that dogs are really only allowed in one little beach area. It also costs NULL for a day pass. If you’re going for the dog friendly park and beach I’d say save your money and go to the free tawas city parks that allow dogs and have nicer beaches and amenities. The restrooms are on the main beach which doesn’t allow dogs. There is not any picnic tables or shady areas, there was 1 bench. The dogs liked the water and it is very shallow so they can play and splash but keep them leashed, it’s a NULL fine if they are caught off leash, however we saw several letting their dogs run in the water.

Very good beach for dogs but a lot of rude people near the beach, just make sure to have a hold on your dog when you go since a lot of people down there don’t seem to understand how dogs “function”

This was a nice beach for the girls (dogs), they loved the water. Be sure to read the signs, seemed like no one could read the signs saying no pets or bikes past the lighthouse. This is due to the extreme erosion that has been caused over the years. So please help keep it from further unnecessary erosion. Thank you.
