Discover the unique Tannersville Cranberry Bog Preserve, located near East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania! Though not a traditional dog park, this nature preserve offers visitors the rare opportunity to explore a pristine bog environment through guided tours arranged with the local conservancy. Pet-friendly hiking and educational field trips are available, but entry to the bog itself is by permission and guided access only.
The preserve is celebrated for its knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides who create memorable experiences for nature lovers. If you’re seeking dog-friendly hiking in the Poconos, keep in mind that access to the main bog is restricted, and walks are organized as structured tours. Public trails do not lead into the core bog habitat. While this spot is best known for its unique wildlife and plant life, it is not a typical off-leash dog park and is better suited for leashed, well-behaved pets joining you for an educational outing.
I’m sure this is a wonderful bog but considering the gates are locked with a sign saying “permission required” I’ll never get to see it, not even a number of who to call or what to do.

Norway going to see the bug is to arrange a tour, none of the public trails take you into the bog, it has to be arranged with the conservatory. There is more hoopla on their website about it then meets the eye. A guided tour is a 2-hour tour and it is only a 30 minute walk the rest of the time is spent listening to the guide talk.
They mentioned how big the bog is but you will never see it. Go to carnivorous plant show instead. You’ll be more impressed there.

The tour guide was AMAZING. I learned soooo much, I’m still digesting it all. The only pic I have of her is enthusiastically examining otter scat. 😁😆
