We have been camping at different locations for over eleven years, we’ve always had good customer service from every campground we’ve been to, but I have to say that the office staff here goes above and beyond. They were more than happy to accommodate a request that we had that was important to us.
We arrived at night, so did not get to see the entire campground but I was able to check out the playground with all the kids having a blast. I also had the opportunity to use the restroom and I have to say it was the cleanest restroom/ shower building I have ever been to in a campground. I would recommend this campground to anyone, we enjoyed a few days of rest and relaxation which is what we needed. Kudos to KOA Shawnee!

We had a cabin with full bath kitchenette, very clean and cozy, the cabin had a beautiful porch to sit and relax with coffee in the morning. Our visit was in October, so Halloween festivities were in full swing! Decorations everywhere, you are invited to decorate to win a contest. In the evening a hayride to their haunted trail, which was VERY impressive! Trick or treating during day. This campground is spotless, there are so many activities for all!! Add their friendly helpful staff. 5 stars all the way!!

Quiet Paroxysm

I think this makes our 5th time at this KOA over about 7 years. Loved it each time. You sit nestled in a valley being able to see fall colors, and this time of year (we had not realized) they run a halloween competition for campsites.

The facilities are good, with lots to do for kids. If it matters, we have been here with a pop-up, small off-road travel trailer and now a Medium travel trailer. Plenty of options and lots of pull throughs.

In general, what I love about KOA’s is consistency, whilst also having unique setups. The fun of camping!

People were nice at check in Sites are less than 5 foot between sites when slide extended. In the rain it was a mud hole. Permanent sites looked like they were abandon or hadn’t been cleaned up in years. Very rustic especially for the nightly price. Site layout and entry/ exit very confusing. No obvious green spaces to walk a dog or even take a walk without being on a gravel road or in mud. Equipment like the games, ping pong tables, pool etc looked like they had been there and not replaced in 20 years. positives our site was level with ample gravel for no mud and enough space to back up and turn around Site had a picnic table but no fire pit. If you are towing a vehicle you have to unhook before parking a rig and then park in a lot in an area in a different park of grounds. To rehook up tow vehicle there is no designated level space to hook it back up so I had to park the camper on level ground, walk to auto, drive it down and then hook it up. Our site did not accommodate a tow vehicle.

Just a beautiful, well maintained KOA campground. Staff quickly delivers whatever you need. Clean showers and restrooms. We happened to stay here during their Halloween Festival weekend. The haunted hayride was the best with several old trailers getting their second life as a haunted house
