Huntington Shelter & Adoption

The people that work there are wonderful and caring people. I adopted my American Bully from them 2 years ago and I was so impressed with the level of attention, care and interest that they take in the dogs. They really get to know their dogs and they give excellent advice for after care as well. I have nothing but kind words for the staff and management.

Didn’t really have the best experience with them. I was just trying to buy a cat, but since I don’t fit their required age which is 21 and I’m 20 I had ask my boyfriend to come with me to help since he’s over that age . They confused him for my dad😑😐 and because of their mistakes. I wasn’t able to get the cat because of false information but there were no words on the paper that said he was my father? I am now facing the consequences of their actions because they wanted to assume something that wasn’t true. Like if you wasn’t sure just ask? They were saying how stuff wasn’t adding up and what we said and what on the paper is not the same. The only thing that we put that was about my boyfriend and I was that he live with my family and I. that it. There was no question about if he was my father, boyfriend. None of that, so like it very confusing how they saying we are not telling the truth when we never said he was my father? Like come on man. So ridiculous to me and because I thought I was so sure to get the little kitten I already bought every necessary thing she would need and waste hundreds of dollars that day. Just to get rejected. So I am not very happy at all. But I’ll give it two stars I guess. They were nice.

I adopted my dog Zeus! He was loved and taken care of by the shelter, already chipped, house broken and does well in public places! He’s definitely our ❤️! Thank you to all who work there and love the animals!

We adopted our dog Bianca two months ago, and we couldn’t be more grateful to this amazing shelter. From day one, the staff went above and beyond to support both Bianca and us. You can tell how much they genuinely care about every dog and their future.

We visited Bianca almost daily for over a month before her adoption, working with Mike and Trevor on training and bonding. They were incredibly patient and knowledgeable, helping us understand Bianca’s needs and build her confidence after some past behavioral issues.

Thanks to their guidance, Bianca settled in beautifully. She’s the most loving part of our family — we honestly can’t imagine life without her. If you’re thinking about adopting, this is the place to go. The care, support, and love they give is unmatched.

We got our little guy about 3 weeks ago. The staff were wonderful. Toby is great fun and comfort. And a hell of an escape artist. The money we saved getting a rescue will now be spent on fortifying our fence. He’s so worth it!
