🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located in the beautiful coastal town of East Lyme, Connecticut, Niantic Beach offers dog owners a unique spot to let their pets enjoy the outdoors. This park features a large, fenced-in area where dogs can run off-leash and socialize with other pups. The beach location means visitors are treated to scenic views, and there’s a long boardwalk perfect for a stroll after dog playtime. Though the main beach restricts dogs, the dedicated dog park area is the only no-leash fenced spot nearby, making it a top choice for local and visiting dog lovers seeking a secure place for play.
Amenities at the park include waste bag dispensers, a special doggy water fountain, and clean surroundings that are regularly maintained by staff and guests alike. While there isn’t a restroom in the dog area itself, clean, air-conditioned restrooms are available nearby by the main parking lot. The entrance can be a bit tricky to find, tucked underneath the train tracks bridge, but once inside you’ll find a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Parking is available, though fees can be high for non-residents, so plan accordingly. The park’s proximity to other outdoor attractions and local eateries adds to its appeal for a full day out with your pet.
Great beach to go to and relax watching the fishing and sailing boats. It has a small entrance right by the adjacent parking lot, that can be easily missed if you’re new to the area. Once you arrive you’d have to head towards the bottom of the bridge past a small rotonda. There will be a bridge above you and another bridge that carries the triangle tracks. The entrance to the beach will be under the train tracks bridge. The beach has a nice and long board walk that extends the length of the beach. There are signs everywhere stating NO DOGS ALLOWED. I did not see trash cans either along the beach. What I did see was a LOT of seashells all over the sand, and at the bottom of the water. So bring your water shoes if you want to enjoy being there. The water is also not as deep, so you can walk a few yards into the water without being submerged. There is also a bathroom with air conditioner, by the oarking lot. At least when i went it was nice and clean as you cam see in the pictures, and it is wheelchair accessible, as well as the beach entrance and the boardwalk. Lots of restaurants nearby if you get hungry afterwards, amd nice parks to chill later while having an icecream if you feel like it. All in all, a great spot to relax under the sun, with a great view.
Great Beach, however I went when their system was down so they didn’t charge, I wouldn’t go if I have to pay their rate is pricey.
Nice spot to kill some time.
Got to see the Acella run thru twice.
Not a bad thing.
Another beach in Connecticut to visit in hot summer day. The place had a very nice long board walk and shops.
Decent sized water area and good amount of space. The beach pass situation is tricky. It’s 40 dollars for non residents and 50 on weekends. We went later in the day and parked further away from the attendants and weren’t charged. There’s also a Amtrak train and bridge that’s literally right next to beach. It throws off the vibe occasionally.
