Located just across the bridge from downtown Hartford, this hotel offers a quiet spot that’s still within easy walking distance to the city’s attractions, making it an ideal place to stay for travelers with dogs or those seeking pet-friendly options in East Hartford, Connecticut.
While primarily a hotel, guests appreciate amenities such as free parking, free breakfast, spacious rooms with refrigerators and microwaves, and friendly, helpful staff. The green areas around the hotel and proximity to walkable paths make short pet walks convenient. I had a very good stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton in East Hartford. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, with a great variety of options to suit all tastes—definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The location was also convenient—close to downtown Hartford but in a quiet area. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a reliable and pleasant hotel experience.
We stayed here for a wedding and it was great. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was great and had a good variety. The staff was very friendly and helpful also.
This was a hotel of minor annoyances. The water pressure-low. Water temp fluctuated frequently in the shower. Door to the room stuck. Fridge didn’t seem to stay cold.
Positives: quick walk across a nice bridge to Hartford. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Decent price.
Overall, would stay again
My overall experience at this hotel was very pleasant. The hotel staff was very friendly. The management takes good care of their guests. They had water, cookies, and coffee kept for the guests at arrival. Fresh breakfast every morning. The location is super convenient to Travelers offices.
The only area of improvement is that the showers did not always have hot water. While it was okay during late spring time, would have been tough during winters.
The service was good, the persons at the front desk were helpful and welcoming.
The rooms were clean, the room had microwave and fridge, the AC was not very loud, the beds were comfortable, the desk in the room had a good size, and there was a small sofa in the room.
The breakfast is a little small, but not a big deal for me.
The area is on the east side of the river – downtown is on the west side, but it was a short, easy walk to get there, less than 10′.
There was some sound from the hall, but nothing too bad; I could hear a little bit of noise from the adjacent room, but nothing bad at all.
Overall the building looks old but it is well-kept.
I think of Hampton as a chain which strives to offer good quality and value, but it is not fancy in any way.
For being in this category, this hotel checks all the boxes, and I would happily be back here. Even more so, considering that the price was quite reasonable compared to many other hotels in Hartford. 5 stars for me.
