Jeorse Park Beach stands out as a peaceful, community-oriented spot that balances fun for kids and a relaxed environment for pet owners seeking a dog park in East Chicago, Indiana. Visitors appreciate the fairly clean beach, accessibility features, and cool lake waters. Note that grilling is only permitted in the parking lot, and while the area is usually clutter-free, some rocks and pebbles are scattered until you reach the water. Dogs are allowed at the beach, so it’s a great option for a lakeshore walk or a family picnic with your pet.
The water was nice and cool. Still a hidden gem if you don’t mind the mills being so close. Was some trash on the beach but that’s from bad beach goers not a bad beach.
So crowded, it will be nice if there where more security guards
My kids enjoyed their visit to the Jeorse Park Beach area. Parking was free, very family oriented, with no drama and clean beach areas. Park closes at 7pm based on the sign rules. I didn’t want to overstay and get locked in, so we left early to be on the safe side.
There are a lot of rocks and pebbles in the sand till you get close to the water. Fairly clean. If you don’t leave the parking lot before 7, they will lock the gate, and you won’t get your vehicle back till the next day.
Family outing ❤️ Our first time going to this beach in Indiana and we really enjoyed it. Wasn’t too crowded everyone was in their own little worlds. Only annoying thing, no grills and you had to grill in the parking lot away from the beach.
