Located near beautiful Chris Greene Lake, this dog park in Earlysville, Virginia, is a popular destination for dog owners seeking a natural setting with unique amenities. The park features a spacious, partially fenced area where dogs can run off-leash and enjoy direct access to the lake for swimming—perfect for water-loving pups on hot summer days. With picnic tables and benches, owners can relax while keeping an eye on their pets.
The park also boasts wooded pet-friendly trails leading to the dog park area, offering a bit of dog-friendly hiking before or after playtime. While the setting is picturesque, visitors should be aware of some natural hazards such as rocks and roots on the trails and potential maintenance issues (like sharp weeds and broken glass reported in rare instances), so attentive supervision is recommended. Chris Greene Lake Dog Park provides a unique blend of lakefront fun and off-leash adventure for dogs and their families in Albemarle County.
Had so much fun playing with my pup and she loved swimming! Just beware of rocks, there are some sharp spots and she got a lil cut on her paw.
Great place to take the kids to swim. Even my big fat self had fun!
In my opinion, this dog park is not well maintained. Somewhere in the trails it was hard to walk because of the weeds. Also I found some broken pieces of glasses spreading at the very beginning of the trail. I wonder who wrote this in some glassware and break them into pieces to spread it in this dog park. Dog owners please be careful about it.
Nice short walk into the woods to a large fenced area for dogs to run and play. It’s fenced on 3 sides with the 4th side open to the lake so dogs can swim. There is also a picnic table and a bench for people to sit while their dogs play. My dog LOVES it!
Great dog park! Lots of space with one side of the park against the water and the other three are fenced in. Exactly what my dog needs on a warm summer day. There might be payment required to enter the park but I did not have to pay. Bring your own toys and watch out for the roots but otherwise it was a great dog park. Does take a bit of a walk at the end of the dead end to reach. Easily take a hike with your pup after swimming!
