Discover Hammock Park, a hidden gem for both you and your furry friend, nestled in the heart of Dunedin, Florida. Known for its tranquil, nature-filled ambiance, this dog park features a dedicated, fenced dog area with separate spaces for small and large dogs, providing a safe and enjoyable off-leash experience. The park is shaded by mature oak trees, giving pups and their owners a cool spot to unwind even on sunny days. While the park is smaller compared to some others in Pinellas County, it offers plenty of room for dogs to run and play, with seating and covered shelters available for owners to relax in comfort.
Beyond the dog park, Hammock Park boasts pet-friendly trails that wind through lush forests, vibrant wildlife habitat, and a butterfly garden. For families, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, and open green fields make it a perfect spot for group gatherings or a day out with kids. Parking is available, though access to the dog park requires a short walk past baseball and racquetball courts, adding to its peaceful and secluded feel. Hammock Park is truly a welcoming place where dog lovers can enjoy the best of Dunedin’s natural beauty.
A nice, dog-friendly park with many short, maintained trails. Download a map (plenty of QRs in the park) since the many short trails and intersections can get confusing and you might miss most of the park. The boardwalks are closed to bicycles.
The map indicates habitats and trails are named after distinctive plants along the trails. The Palm trail has some of the tallest Sabal palm trees in the area. Alongside the brackish waters grow mostly Black mangroves, with some White and Button mangroves in between.
This is my special place! I love exploring the trails, observing the animals and wildlife, and living among the peaceful sights and sounds of nature. Hammock Park is committed to maintaining the beauty of its grounds, encouraging visitors to clean up after themselves and help pick up any litter to protect the environment. This hidden gem is perfect for peaceful morning or evening walks. I recommend visiting Lake Suemar and the Fern Trail. 🌴🌳

A nice little park in Dunedin Florida- a little oasis from the overdevelopment of Pinellas County. Several tails for walking or biking. Lots of dogs. Good place to spot owls and gopher tortoises. Can do 2-3 miles if you want on all the trails. Butterfly garden of native plants.
Beautiful park for walking. About 3 miles if you do all the trails, lots of shade. Trails are clear and well maintained. Not much wildlife, but you can see butterflies, gopher tortoises, and birds here. Also has a playground for kids and a place for dogs to run and play.
